dartsOne Hundred and Eighty!!

No, that’s not the average age of the 41 club membership, but if you’d been down to Woking Conservative Club on Thursday 24th of March you may have heard it cried when Woking Round Table took on Woking 41 Club in the annual darts competition.

The evening was ably organized by George Whitehouse and was well attended by 41 Club and Round Table members.  A few 41 Club members who have not yet been issued with their free bus pass were loaned to the Round Table team to even up the team numbers.  Much fun and banter was had by all and a slap up fish and chip meal from “The Ketch” made for another great evening for the event which is a firm favorite in the Table’s social calendar.

After last year’s crushing defeat, Round Table was serious this year.  Their darts skills honed by hours of practice they were confident that 41 Club would be crushed at the Walk-on.

The atmosphere was tense as 41 Club took the early lead.  Woking Round Table responded with the next 2 games until, at the end, with the glory of winning the coveted title hanging in the balance with 5 games apiece, the pressure was unbearable.  In a final double 1 checkout finish marathon, 41 Club took the prize.

Round Table will be back next year to settle the score!
